All I wanted for my birthday this year was a yarn bouquet. Yes, you read that correctly…a yarn bouquet! Together my mother and husband pulled this off and as a result made my birthday by far one of the most memorable. However, you must understand that my mother was not satisfied with just a yarn bouquet. She went so far as to make me a yarn cake. But the birthday fun did not stop there.
She and my father visited my favorite yarn shop and selected three Vintage DK colors from Berroco yarns and a pattern from Plymouth Yarn that they knew I could accomplish on my own (as I am still learning many stitches). Wouldn’t you know that they selected colors that would coordinate with my favorite winter coat? A burnt orange pea coat that my husband bought me for my birthday two years ago.
I’m on my last contrast color in the series. I hope to be done shortly so I can enjoy being wrapped in it’s warmth and think fondly of the thoughtfulness behind it. Visit On the Needles – Scarves & Wraps to check out my progress.
